Description

Costume and Props made and modeled by me!

Character : Cloud Strife
Series : FFVII

Why: I wanted to pay homage to the original game and make Cloud as he first appeared, based on his FFVII costume.

How: The shirt was clearanced purple corduroy I patterned out and stitched together. The pants were blue jeans that I colored purple with dye to match the shirt. I will never trust myself enough to make pants, I don't want a wardrobe malfuntion in that place inparticular!  The gloves were gardening gloves I roughed up and decaled from Home Depot. The harness is EVA foam and and bunch of old people belts :) The armor is Worbla and foam.
Lastly I made the Buster sword the afternoon before the first con I wore it to, it's all foam board and pape mache with a PVC. pipe skeleton It was wrapped in fabric and decaled with studs and then good to go!

I love wearing this costume! The shoulder pad is so padded it's like having a pillow strapped to your shoulder.  My hair was spiky before we left for the con, but I have very thick pin-straight hair that doesn't like being told what to do and it was way too clean for Cloud's hairstyle to last more than a couple hours. I'm glad you can see that my hair is still spiky in this picture :)
